The Child of Veteran and Public 安全 Officer Supplemental Grant (CVO) Program is offered through the Indiana Commission for Higher Education Division of Student 金融援助. The program provides tuition at public colleges for eligible children of disabled Indiana veterans, eligible children of Purple Heart recipients, eligible children and spouses of certain members of the Indiana National Guard killed while serving on state active duty, eligible children and spouses of certain Indiana public safety officers killed in the line of duty, and eligible former residents of the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Children's 首页. To be eligible, you must:

Be the biological or legally adopted dependent child of a disabled veteran. Maintain satisfactory progress as defined by the University. For details and exceptions, visit the Indiana Commission for Higher Education website.

NOTE: If you think you may be eligible for this benefit, you should apply. Instruction are provided below. Upon receipt of your application, the Indiana 部门 of 退伍军人 Affairs will review your file and notify you regarding your eligibility, typically within 8-10 weeks.

This program provides up to 124 credit hours of financial assistance. The benefit does not include books or housing.

  • Step 1: Complete and submit the Federal Student 援助 FAFSA, preferably by March 10 each year. For instructions (and online application) visit www.fafsa.ed.政府.
  • Step 2: Complete and submit State Form 20234 (for children of individuals injured on active duty) - or - State Form 52363 (for children of guardsmen injured while on active duty). 形式 must be submitted to the Indiana 部门 of 退伍军人 Affairs no later than 30 days before the end of the college semester.   • Step 3: The approved application will be returned to you, the applicant. You must submit the original approved application as well as a copy of your birth certificate to the University's Office of Student 金融援助 (Tirey Hall, room 150) no later than 30 days before the end of the college semester.
